New Years 2020 will go down historically as our favorite one ever. We were invited to join some friends on their catamaran on their first-ever Gulf stream crossing from Florida into the Bahamas. Destination: Man-O-War Cay, Abacos. We all heard stories of this horrific storm and the destruction to property and, unfortunately, human life.
We were incredibly blessed to meet and speak to a few workers and volunteers with Samaritan’s Purse and to see just how hard residents, workers and volunteers worked. From the restaurant to the temporary ladder to climb from the dinghy, every one, young and old, had a hand in bringing them one day closer to restoration.
The islands have a very long road ahead of them, but let me tell you something. Jesus is on the heart and hand of each person there. There wasn’t a feeling of deprivation or loss. All we witnessed were smiles, handshakes and hugs.
We want to thank Chris and Jamie Wilcher (and of course Ava & Lola) for making this trip possible. Your love and generosity are boundless. Especially when it comes to Jesus. To see how you put Jesus first and go wherever you’re needed is inspirational. We are incredibly blessed to have you in our lives. Forever! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you next.
